Motek/Bondexpo 2021: The countdown has started!
The traditional and proven trade fair duo Motek/Bondexpo is prepared as scheduled as a presence event: The industry will meet for the 39th Motek – International Trade Fair for Production and Assembly Automation – and the 14th Bondexpo – International Trade Fair for Adhesive Bonding Technology – live from 05. until 08 October 2021 in Stuttgart.
Now there are only a few days left until exhibitors and trade visitors of the industrial automation industry will meet and exchange live and in person. Motek/Bondexpo will be one of the first trade events after the trade fair-free period and is accordingly awaited with great anticipation. For the companies of industrial production and automation, the direct technical discussion, long missed, will be held from 05. to October 8 in Stuttgart is possible again. The comprehensive hygiene concept of Messe Stuttgart, which has been completely coordinated by the authorities and implemented on the basis of the current, generally valid Corona Ordinance of the State of Baden-Württemberg, will provide a suitable and safe framework for this.
For the industry of production and assembly automation as well as joining and bonding technology, Motek together with the complementary, fully integrated Bondexpo is one of the most important trade fairs. As the leading trade fair for the world of automation, it is the business platform par excellence with an adequate product and service portfolio. Traditionally, components, assemblies, subsystems and complete systems including robotics are on the trade show schedule – all systems increasingly software-supported and networked to form integral overall systems in the context of increasing digitalization and automation. In this way, trade visitors are supported and inspired in the implementation of digitization in their own companies.
Software for Assembly” exhibition area
The “Software for Assembly” exhibition area creates a platform for the current topic of digitalization of manufacturing and assembly. The “Arena of Integration” will be further developed into the “living heart” of this new exhibition area at Motek 2021.
The digitalization of business processes in assembly operations will be demonstrated: in sales from the CAD system to quotation generation to real-time 3D animation, in small batch production from 3D scanning to CAD processing to 3D printing, and in assembly operations with the connection of a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to the digital twin of an assembly line. Digitization in service will focus on secure Internet data transmission and will also be demonstrated to machines in other halls. All of these solutions will be demonstrated live at the Arena of Integration.
Participants include well-known mechanical engineering companies such as ThyssenKrupp Automation Engineering or Otto Bihler Maschinenfabrik with their own digitization solutions, but also numerous high-tech companies with their digitization solutions with a unique selling point.
Special areas for 3D printing and startups
The “Special 3D Printing Area” is being prepared as a thematic highlight in Hall 1. Here, suppliers of 3D printers for industrial use, material suppliers for 3D printing, and contract manufacturers for 3D printed parts and assemblies will showcase their solutions and services. The field of new possibilities opened up by 3D printing technology is incredibly wide: construction and design freedom, bionic and individual structures, undercuts, overhangs and lightweight structures are all possible with it. Especially those industries benefit from the technology that produce small batches or any special components – such as spare parts, brackets, tools or housings. The start-up area in Hall 1 also invites committed and forward-looking visitors. With this special area, Schall, the trade fair organizer, is deliberately giving young companies who want to present their innovative automation ideas a suitable platform at Motek/Bondexpo with the goal of generating feasible solutions for everyday industrial use from the product ideas and new product presentations.
Efficient and flexible hairpin production
Electromobility is in the fast lane and will change requirements and workflows in production processes. Motek/Bondexpo is also giving this increasingly important topic a platform and is setting up a Hairpin Motor Production Area in Hall 5, where automation solutions for E-components will be on display. Bihler, for example, will be presenting the new BM-HP 3000 servo production system, which opens up modern perspectives in industrial mass production of all common hairpin types. The machine combines all process steps into an efficient complete solution; users benefit from significantly higher cycle rates than with sequential systems and from flexible scalability for future tasks.
Bondexpo with future topic adhesive bonding technology
The complementary Bondexpo is fully integrated into the trade show concept and focuses on industrial joining and bonding technology, which has become an integral part of many industrial and craft sectors. It will become even more important in the future because bonded products can improve both energy efficiency and material efficiency compared to alternative products.
