Spirolox® Retaining Rings
In TFC's product portfolio, Smalley flat wire wave springs offer developers and designers from various industries revolutionary solutions for the axial and radial reduction of installation spaces and the miniaturisation of functional modules and components. Thanks to these products, annoying installation space problems and design collisions are a thing of the past.

A key area of application for wave springs is the realisation of innovative preload solutions. Thanks to their rolled flat wire design, they are superior to conventional springs in many applications. They offer decisive advantages, particularly when it comes to the precise adjustment of preloads and tolerance compensation in roller bearing assemblies. Wave springs work with maximum precision and reliability for short spring travel and low to medium loads. Their special design with a gap or overlapping ends enables simple radial clamping in bores, allowing targeted pressure to be applied to the outer ring of a rolling bearing. This ensures free movement of the spring ends and prevents slippage, making overhead mounting possible without any problems. Compared to conventional round wire springs, flat wire wave springs require up to 50 per cent less axial installation space for the same spring travel and load capacity.

The Spirolox® retaining rings, also manufactured using a precise roll-winding process, are free of any interfering lugs, eyelets or holes and are perfectly sealed all round. As a result, neighbouring components are not obstructed or scratched and radial installation space is saved. These retaining rings are the ideal solution for space-optimised designs where every tenth counts.

With the innovative solutions from TFC, developers and designers can redefine the limits of miniaturisation and installation space optimisation.
